Born: Irondequoit, NY 1956. Moved to the Hudson Valley in 1961. Grew up in Hyde Park.
Home: Ulster County, NY . Live with daughter, granddaughter and 2 cats.
Married: twice, have 3 daughters ages 19, 23, and 26. Also 3 year-old granddaughter.
Career: I didn't blossom until late in life... couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. Became a
high school French teacher in 1999. I am currently working on a double Master's Degree
in Technology through New York Institute of Technology.
Music:
- I remember singing "This Land is Your Land" when I was very young, about 3 years-old
- began playing flute and guitar age 8
- age 15 - began doing open mics at Lyn Burnstine's Family Sing Coffeehouse
- age 22 - suffered from extreme stage-fright and didn't play in public again until I was 36 (14 years later)
Where I've played: Family Sing Coffeehouse, Sober in the Sun Folk Festival (MA), Half Moon
Folk Festival (VT), Hudson Valley Folk Guild (all chapters), Schultzville
Coffeehouse, John St. Jam (Saugerties) and many a living room in New York,
Maine, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
Influences: Joan Baez, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Rondstat, Mary Mc Caslin, harmonies of Loggins &
Messina, the Eagles and the Mamas and the Papas
